Ivy

I never imagined that the scruffy kid who was my brother's best friend would grow up to be this muscular Adonis. If I'm honest with myself, I’ve always had a crush on Leo. Back then, I hid it behind my argumentative, bossy exterior, being a true little pest to both him and my brother, Bear. Now, Leo is all I can think about, and I’m not sure he sees me as anything more than Bear’s little sister.

Leo

When Ivy arrived in Cady Springs, I hadn't seen her in seven years. Being in the military, I missed a lot of people as they grew up and changed. Now that I'm involved in dangerous work, I never planned on settling down. But being around Ivy -- this new version of her -- has me rethinking the whole marriage thing. She's Bear's little sister, though, and my history with women is sort of love them and leave them. Bear will be furious with me thinking about his sister the way I do. Ivy has quickly grown into my head space while I have carnal thoughts of having her wrapped around my body.

Returning to her hometown of Cady Springs, Colorado, Ivy Collins is ready to fulfill her role as Maid of Honor for Angela and her brother Bear's wedding. Known for her fiery spirit and quick wit, Ivy has always maintained a playful, adversarial relationship with Bear's best friend, Leo. As children, their teasing and banter were legendary, but now, years later, the stakes are higher.

Leo has transformed from the boy who used to pull her pigtails into a ruggedly handsome former Navy SEAL. As Best Man, he's tasked with ensuring the wedding goes off without a hitch, but he never anticipated Ivy's return would ignite such a powerful attraction. Determined to keep things platonic, both Ivy and Leo struggle to navigate the forbidden allure that now simmers between them.

With every glance, every accidental touch, their chemistry intensifies, making it harder to ignore the undeniable sparks. As they work together to support Bear and Angela on their big day, Ivy and Leo begin to see each other in a new light, recognizing the depth of their connection beyond the playful jabs and childhood antics.

Yet, the shadow of their past and the weight of familial bonds loom large. Bear's protective instincts toward his sister and his deep friendship with Leo create a seemingly insurmountable barrier. Ivy and Leo must decide if they're willing to risk it all for a chance at true love, or if they’ll let the constraints of their relationship keep them apart.

Opal Nicks delivers a steamy, yet heartwarming, tale of rediscovered love and the irresistible pull of destiny.

Loved This Story

Ivy and her brother Bear, and his best friend Leo all grew up together in Cady Springs. Leo became a SEAL and returned to become a pilot with his own plane. Ivy became a teacher a few states away in Arizona. Brought back together years later for her brother's wedding, the sparks coming off both of them ignite to strong feelings and deep passion.
The characters are terrific, with lots of sass from growing up together and strong convictions. The storyline had a great pace of events and steamy moments, with vivid locales and close family and friends. Absolutely loved the day of major decisions and cloud nine.

Leo and Ivy

Tracked Down By The Mountain Man is
Book 7 of the Mountain Men of Cady Springs series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, curvy girl gets her brother's best friend romance. Ivy is a sweet and sassy curvy teacher. Leo is a hunky, ex-navy seal turned pilot. He is also her older brother, Bear's, best friend. When Ivy returns home for the wedding of Bear and Angel, she sees Leo for the first time in 7 years. The two are partnered in the wedding and extremely attracted to each other now. But what will Bear and her parents say? Can Leo show Ivy that he is all in? This couple had amazing chemistry, and although there is a little bit of family drama, we do get a great HEA. This was a wonderful addition to the series. I loved it.

Fun read

This was another fun read for the series and I loved the connection between Ivy and Leo. These two grew up around each other and their coming together after seven years apart opened their eyes in a new way. Of course, though, Leo is Ivy's brother's best friend so we definitely have weigh-in from the family, making things tougher than they needed to be for these wonderful characters. With fab world building and great steam, this was a page turner for me :D

Will it finally be their time to be together?

Leo Miles is best friends with Bear Collins. He grew up playing with Bear and Bear's younger sister, Ivy. He left and became a Navy SEAL. When he returned, he opened a small business providing charter flights mainly for tourists.

He's always loved and cared for Ivy. However, he now realizes that not only does he love Ivy, but he's in love with Ivy. The latter won't sit well with her family, especially Bear. Bear is a firm believer in the bro code, so Ivy is off-limits. More importantly, Bear and his parents know that Leo has always been a player. He's never been interested in marriage or starting a family. They don’t want to watch her heart shatter into tiny bits and pieces if he drops her, like he's done to other women in the past.

Ivy Collins is returning to Cady Springs, Colorado. She's a high school teacher living in Arizona. She's excited to be back home, not only to be MOH at Bear's wedding but also to see her parents and especially Leo. He was the boy she crushed on when she was in high school.

Leo wants to do things the right way, including asking her father permission to marry her. But both her mother and father have reservations about Leo. What will her father's answer be?

A Very Sweet Mountain Man Romance

Tracked Down by the Mountain Man is a standalone contemporary romance by Opal Nicks, and is the seventh book of the Mountain Men of Cady Springs series. This is a small town, mountain man, friends to lovers,, brother's best friend novella. It was sweet, spicy and totally satisfying.

In this story, ex-Navy SEAL Leo is the best man for his best friend's wedding. He is totally shocked and blown away when he realises that the little girl that used to get in his way has grown into a stunning woman. Ivy is that woman, she had a crush on her brother's best friend for years before she left her hometown in Colorado for Arizona. And while the sexual tension between Leo and Ivy seems to be ready to combust at any moment, Ivy has an extremely protective older brother who will judge any man she chooses to be with.

This is a high heat book, but there is also plenty of emotion, which gives the book richness when it comes to Ivy and Leo sorting out their feelings. Because of that there is maybe a touch of angst, but for the most part I felt annoyed for both Leo and Ivy for being judged as if they were still children by the people they love. But these two are totally wonderful and enjoyed the lengths they would go for love.
