Hired By The Highlander (E-Book)
She came for the job.
She never expected the man… or the little girl who’d steal her heart
Grace has spent her whole life being the responsible one. After losing their mother too young, she and her sister Candy had to survive foster homes, empty fridges, and the kind of heartache most people read about in books. While Candy found her spark in the kitchen, Grace pushed herself through college courses determined to become a teacher. But dreams don’t pay rent. Right now, she’s drowning in bills, stress, and self-doubt.
When Candy, now happily married and living in the Scottish Highlands, begs her to come visit and interview for a nanny position, Grace agrees. She needs a break. She needs a paycheck. And she misses her sister more than she’ll admit.
But she doesn’t expect Fraser MacLeod. A widowed single father with a protective streak, a smoldering stare, and a stubborn heart, Fraser doesn’t want a new nanny. Especially not one who makes his pulse kick like this.
Grace is supposed to be temporary.
But the more time she spends in the stone cottage ... the more she wonders if she’s exactly where she belongs.
Fraser’s daughter trusts her. The family embraces her. And Fraser? He’s trying not to fall, but she’s making it impossible.
She came to get her life back on track. She never expected to find love, a child’s laughter ... or the home she’s always longed for.

Every time I think Opal can’t top herself she does. Anyone who has ever lost a spouse can understand the feeling of being lost and alone. Add in a small child to the mix and it becomes even more difficult. Grace takes the job as nanny not knowing what to expect but of course she soon falls in love with Bonnie and her stuffed coo, Clover. And falling in love with Fraser was just as easy. Fortunately, he fell in love with her as well. This was a beautiful story, well written, and makes me long for a Scotsman of my own.
