A Little Spark at Eight Pines Cabins

A Little Spark at Eight Pines Cabins

Oops… I Fell for the Electrician Next Door Is Here!

If you have read a few of my books, you know that my love stories do not begin with candlelight and roses. There has to be some inciting event to get the ball rolling where two unlikely souls discover one another.

Kelsey Matlock’s begins with flickering porch lights, overloaded electrical panels, and a very capable electrician moving into the cabin next door.

Welcome to Eight Pines Cabins

Kelsey has poured everything she has into Eight Pines, her little lakeside cabin business in Cady Springs, Colorado. The cabins are rustic, charming, and surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountain scenery imaginable.

They are also showing their age, especially where the electrical system is concerned.

Kelsey knows improvements need to be made, but upgrades cost money. She has guests to keep happy, cabins to maintain, and absolutely no time for a bossy electrician to start pointing out every problem she’s been trying not to see.

Unfortunately for her, Marc Decker notices everything. He’s in Cady Springs as the lead electrician for the Lakefront Revitalization Project, and renting the cabin beside Kelsey’s puts him much too close to her business ... and to her.

Marc sees outdated panels, flickering lights, and potential fire hazards.

Kelsey sees repair bills she can’t afford.

But beneath all their disagreements, something else is beginning to spark. The more Marc steps in to help, the harder it becomes for Kelsey to resist the protective, maddeningly competent man who seems determined to take care of both Eight Pines and the woman who owns it.

And Marc?

Let’s just say the electricity isn’t the only thing running hot around those cabins.

I fell in love with Eight Pines Cabins before writing this book. The place actually originated in my book Daring With The Mountain Man.

In my imagination, the cabins sit beneath towering pines at the edge of a mountain lake. At dusk, their porch lights glow against the deepening blue sky and shimmer across the water. They’re cozy, a little weathered, and filled with the memories of all the people who have stayed there.

For Kelsey, Eight Pines isn’t simply a business. It represents her independence, her dreams, and everything she has worked to build.

That makes Marc’s arrival particularly disruptive. He doesn’t merely see the repairs she has postponed. He sees how much responsibility she carries, and how rarely she lets anyone share the weight.

Marc may be a little bossy, but he isn’t grumpy. His need to protect Kelsey comes from a place of genuine care, even when she’s not quite ready to admit how good it feels to have someone looking out for her.

Their romance became everything I wanted it to be: warm, steamy, protective, and grounded in the kind of everyday competence that can be irresistibly sexy.

But Their Story Doesn’t End There…

Marc hasn’t experienced a true Christmas at home in years. This year, he has Kelsey, Eight Pines, and eight little cabins that are about to receive some very special surprises.

At the end of the book, you’ll find an invitation to download a free Christmas bonus epilogue through BookFunnel. Inside, Marc has one unforgettable gift planned for Kelsey and a few romantic secrets tucked among the pines.

Thank you for returning to Cady Springs with me. I hope you fall in love with Kelsey, Marc, and their glowing little corner of the lake as much as I did.

Happy reading!
