Hemp & Honey

Silver Fox Hero walking with younger heroine in nature

When Forbidden Feels Like Home

Some love stories don’t ask permission. They arrive quietly and unexpectedly. Between shared glances, long silences, and moments the characters should walk away … but don’t.

Hemp & Honey was born from that exact tension. At its heart, this story asks a simple but dangerous question: What happens when the person you want most is the one you’re not supposed to want at all?

Kayla arrives in Kentucky expecting a working vacation helping her boss review financials on her family’s struggling farm. What she doesn’t expect is Tom Caldwell: silver-haired, grounded, commanding, and completely off-limits. He’s her boss’s father. He’s twice her age. And the connection between them is immediate, undeniable, and impossible to ignore.

This story isn’t about reckless choices or betrayal. It’s about quiet temptation, emotional honesty, and what happens when two adults choose each other despite the complications, not because of them.

Silver Fox Hero with Younger Heroine

Why I Wrote Hemp & Honey

I wanted to explore an age-gap romance that felt earned, not shocking for shock’s sake. Tom isn’t a man chasing youth. He’s a man who’s built a life, weathered losses, and stands firmly in who he is. Kayla isn’t naïve. She’s capable, helpful, and very aware of the risks.

Their attraction unfolds slowly, layered with restraint, longing, and respect. The heat is there, but so is the heart.

Courthouse in Bourbon County, KY

Set in the rural countryside near Paris, Kentucky, Hemp & Honey draws from the charm of a real Bluegrass town with rolling farmland, a historic town square, and a pace of life that values roots over flash.

Country Road in Kentucky

No Eiffel Tower replica ... just honest land, quiet roads, and a sense of home that runs deep. And yes … Kentucky matters. The Bluegrass setting with its bourbon sunsets, working land, and deep traditions mirrors the emotional stakes of the story. This is a place where legacy matters. Where choices echo. Where love, once chosen, means something.

Monica and Karla are heading to the Caldwell Farm to help Tom, Monica’s father, dissect his business. The moment Karla sees Tom the attraction begins. But she knows that he is off-limits. Could a romance begin? As she really sees the farm and the love Tom has for it, she is aware she is falling in love with him. Will Tom reciprocate the feel? How will Monica handle what is growing between her dad and Karla? This is a wonderful story that It is well written with likeable characters that drew me in and had me all caught up in them. Can’t wait for the next book in this amazing series. The author has a way of bringing the reader into the story so the they can feel every emotion that the characters are experiencing. You not only just read the book you feel it. Highly recommend.
